SANAH vzw (Sustainable Aid for Needs and Access to Health) is the Belgian non-profit association that supports and safeguards the continuity of the NUVHOP project. Established by committed volunteers, SANAH vzw provides essential structural, financial, and organizational backing for the ongoing partnership between Belgium and Uganda.
By working closely with both the Ugandan NUCHO CBO team and the wider NUVHOP network, SANAH vzw ensures that resources reach where they are needed most and that the project can grow sustainably. The association coordinates fundraising, handles administrative responsibilities, and oversees the long-term vision for the collaboration. Its mission is to foster equal opportunities in health, promote international understanding, and create positive social impact through reliable support structures.

Treasurer SANAH and NUCHO
Hi there!
I’m glad to welcome you on our website. My name is Baptiste Bovyn, treasurer for both SANAH VZW and NU-CHO CBO. I joined NUV-HOP in 2022 during my second year of Medicine studies at Ghent University. Reason I did so is that (1) I have been grateful for all opportunities that I have been given so far and wanted to contribute to a societal purpose with meaningful impact; and (2) both the intense collaboration with our Ugandan colleagues and our intimate stay within our Ugandan families is very enriching both on a personal and professional level.
In 2024, I joined the board of both organizations to continue to professionalize our operations, enabling NUV-HOP’s sustainable growth with the aim of offering more services and higher-quality services to the communities in Northern Uganda.
Please feel free to reach out to me if you want to connect!
Cheers,
Baptiste,

Expert advisor 25-26 NU-CHO
Hey 🙂
My name is Ella Portier, and I am secretary of SANAH vzw and expert advisor for NU-CHO for 2025-2026. Since 2022, I’ve been involved in our project and in 2024 I had the opportunity to work as team lead alongside Baptiste.
What truly inspires me about NUV-HOP are its vision and mission, especially our close collaboration with the Ugandan team, familys and dedicated volunteers. This project has allowed me to form connections for life on both the Ugandan and Belgian sides. I believe there’s so much to learn and shape from the international partnerships, both personally and professionally.
Like many in our team, I’m also pursuing medical studies, and being part of this community continues to enrich my perspective every day.
Feel free to reach out if you’d like to connect, share ideas, or learn more about our work.
Warm regards,
Ella
