At NUV-HOP, we proudly collaborate with dedicated local partner organizations in Northern Uganda, each specializing in critical areas of healthcare during our outreach programs. These partners are essential in extending quality medical and preventive services to underserved rural communities.
In addition to these local collaborators, we also work with Belgian partners like Humasol, whose contributions focus on sustainable infrastructure improvements at our partner hospital GRRH. While our local partners are actively involved in outreach delivery, organizations like Humasol provide invaluable support by enhancing healthcare facilities’ capacity to offer quality care.
Below, you will find an overview of our committed local partners and their unique contributions to advancing health outcomes in Northern Uganda.
Reproductive Health Uganda (RHU)
RHU is an NGO committed to ensuring sexual and reproductive health for all Ugandans without discrimination. They provide services including:
- Family planning and contraceptive methods
- HIV/AIDS and STI testing and management
- Screening and treatment of cervical and breast cancer
- Safe male circumcision
- Laboratory services
- Infertility diagnosis and follow-up
- Pre- and postnatal care
- Immunization and vaccinations, including HPV and Hepatitis B
This year, in partnership with NUV-HOP, RHU offered cervical cancer screening, family planning, safe male circumcision, and HIV/AIDS screening and follow-up to thousands of patients.

Tackle Sickle Cell Africa (TSCA)
TSCA has been active since 2022 in the Acholi sub-region in northern Uganda, an area with the highest prevalence of sickle cell disease and trait in the country. In collaboration with the Ugandan Ministry of Health, TSCA runs an extensive screening program allowing thousands of youth to know their sickle cell status, which helps them make informed reproductive health choices.
Besides free screening, TSCA conducts awareness campaigns, blood collection drives, radio programs, home visits, and projects to support the mental well-being of children living with sickle cell disease. Their involvement greatly enriches our outreaches by providing communities with accessible screening and counseling, improving prevention, early diagnosis, and support.
Oral Health Uganda (OHU)
OHU is a solidarity organization based in Gulu that provides dental care to patients in rural northern Uganda. With a team of dentists and dental students, they treat over 600 patients annually, addressing issues from toothaches to abscess and tooth removal.
Their dental consultation posts are deliberately positioned parallel to doctor consultations and other outreach services, resulting in four parallel queues. This organization minimized waiting times and reduced entrance chaos, leading to improved outreach flow and quality care.

Humasol
Humasol is an international solidarity organization dedicated to making renewable energy, water, and sustainable technology accessible. In 2025, six engineering students were deployed to Gulu in close cooperation with the hospital’s engineering team to implement two projects:
- Installation of solar panels to ensure continuous power for vaccine refrigeration
- Installation of a water system on the maternity ward, greatly improving hygiene and quality of care
